Position Summary:
The primary role of the Field Clinical Specialist is to provide clinical and technical training, educate target customers and clinical investigators, and provide support, during clinical ablation procedures, at each account wherever possible, throughout the designated Country/ Geography(s) and other geographic locations if required. In addition, develop and provide first class professional clinical and technical training programs. This includes the generation and approval of specific materials for supporting the Ablation Frontiers sales and distribution efforts with training and inducting new customers to a level and competence desired for best clinical outcomes. Furthermore, help champion the development of training materials and programs for developing and maintaining the clinical and technical competencies of the EU Ablation Frontiers sales and distribution organizations.
Duties may include activities outside of the designated Country/geography(s), dependant on needs of Ablation Frontiers.
Position duties will be structured around specific account needs, according to current business commitments and will expand/change according to future business demands.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attend and co-ordinate procedures at commercial and/or clinical customer sites – offer expert advice to ensure best techniques and practices and best clinical outcomes – instill a highly valued and recognized expert leadership position with each customer.
- Co-ordinate the timely completion of any current or future EU required clinical trials and/or registries to achieve best outcomes, if required.
- Provide expert clinical and technical advice/support specifically relating to AFI Inc devices.
- Assist with the development of approved training programs and materials, for effectively inducting new customers on AF Inc products and procedures, which result in the ability to conduct procedures independently, utilizing best practices and achieving best clinical outcomes.
- Gather market intelligence, customer needs and requirements, whether requested or just observations and communicate to the respective AF Inc personnel in a timely and meaningful manner.
- Attend company organized and/or approved meetings, where appropriate.
- Be proactive and professional at all times that support the financial and future success of Ablation Frontiers.
- Conduct your work practices in line with company practices and standards, compliant with the ADVAMED Business Code of Ethics and/or International best practices.
- Perform all duties within the pre-defined budget.
- Report all field observations and complaints, associated with AF Inc products and services, as required by AF Inc procedures.
REPORTING:
This position will report directly to the Country Manager or Director for Distributor operations or the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Ablation Frontiers Inc, depending on the reporting structure within the defined Country and/or geography(s). Specific duties will be determined and coordinated in conjunction with the business needs and strategic plans and will be subject to change given ongoing strategies and tactics.
Initial, ongoing training and skills accreditation will be provided to standards expected within Ablation Frontiers, dependant on current product offering, including new product iterations/ introductions. Training will be provided locally and internationally, dependant on training needs.
- Provide required reporting forms, including a monthly planner of forthcoming activities and events, two weeks in advance.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with your supervisor, head office and colleagues via pager, mobile telephone, fax and/or email.
- Be available, at all times whenever possible, to respond to customer calls via pager, mobile telephone, fax and/or email.
Ensure all required reports are completed in full and provided in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate customer account records, training materials and equipment etc, are maintained at all times (AF Inc property).
- Provide business related expense claims, complete with receipts, every month, by the close of each month, for sign off and payment approval. (no expense claim should be over one month in duration).
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum - Life Sciences or Nursing Degree.
- Minimum - 2 years industry experience in a medical device company.
- Minimum - 2 years clinical experience working directly with physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Minimum - excellent familiarity with GCP’s, “Good Clinical Practices”
- Minimum - excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Minimum – ability to present/teach detailed technical and clinical information, to all levels of company personnel and customers alike.
- Highly desired – comprehensive medical device field experience, supporting procedures within the EP Catheter lab.
- Highly desired – comprehensive experience supporting atrial fibrillation ablation procedures, observing/interpreting multi-channel intracardiac EKG’s.
