Position Summary:
The primary role of the Marketing Communications Specialist is to work in conjunction with the Marketing team to deliver high quality, exciting marketing communications for both internal and external Ablation Frontiers customers. The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing all marketing assets including print, electronic and media. The ideal candidate will have the creative flair to set the Company apart from the competition. In addition be self sufficient and have the ability to design and create best in class marketing communications, with or without outside vendor assistance. Location and management of high quality outside vendors to ensure timelines are met and programs delivered, within pre-defined and pre-agreed budgets. As a new entity in the marketplace, the Marketing Communications Specialist will have the opportunity to help establish the Ablation Frontiers brand in the Medical Device marketplace.
Duties will include activities both in the US and Internationally.
Position duties will be structured around specific organization and customer needs, according to current business commitments and will expand/change according to future business demands.
Duties and Responsibilities: (not totally exclusive to the following)
- Lead and organize logistics for major conventions and meetings including booth configuration, set up, staffing, shipping, modification and registration
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and deliver exciting campaigns for product launch and promotion. Work from concept through creation to delivery of required materials
- Create and manage online and offline communications supporting product launches, Web sites, e-mail campaigns
Work with vendors to create brochures, web content, videos, animations and other marketing materials, that align with the Ablation Frontiers strategy. Manage vendors and timelines to ensure timely delivery within pre-defined budgets.
- Management of website content for consistency, updates, and excitement
- Perform regular analysis of external Web properties
- Analyze Web site traffic, keyword campaigns
- Assist in creating strategy to improve performance
- Create Patient stories
- Create PR materials; including press releases and b-roll
- Write, edit and route all press releases
- Work with PR vendor to create b-roll
- Update and maintain Ablation Frontiers Press Kit
- Management and continued development of corporate style guide & standards – enforcement of standards utilization
- Ensure marketing materials are consistent in messaging, style and tone
- Establish and maintain processes and procedures for material sign-off and files
- Develop and maintain a tracking & ordering system for produced marketing materials and give-aways
REPORTING:
This position will report directly to the Senior Director – Global Marketing, Ablation Frontiers, Inc. Specific duties will be determined and coordinated in conjunction with the corporate and international needs and strategic plans. Duties will be subject to change and/or modification given ongoing business needs.
Initial, ongoing training and skills accreditation will be provided to standards expected within AF Inc, dependant on current product offering, including new product iterations/ introductions. Comprehensive training will be provided locally and internationally, dependant on your training needs.
- Provide required reporting forms, including a monthly planner of forthcoming activities and events, three months in advance.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with your supervisor, head office and global colleagues via mobile telephone and/or email.
- Ensure all required reports are completed in full and provided in a timely manner.
Provide business related expense claims, complete with receipts, every month, by the close of each month, for sign off and payment approval. (No expense claim should be over one month in duration)
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BA, BS in Communications, Marketing, English or related field required, MBA or MBA candidate preferred
- 3 – 5 years marketing communications experience preferably in the Electrophysiology, Catheter Ablation, or Cardiac Rhythm Management fields or other medical fields
- Knowledge of eMarketing and web strategy is desirable
- Ability to work with projects in all media formats including printed, electronic, video and animation
- Ability to travel 10-25% of the time in the US and Internationally
- Self starter, able to work with others in a dotted line organization as well as with outside agencies to complete assignments
- Ability to work within budget constraints to achieve the most with available funding
- Able to work independently and globally, flexibility to work with all major geographies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Adobe applications such as Photoshop, inDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
- Familiarity with Adobe Flash preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Vendor coordination experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to handle a large volume of projects simultaneously
