Meet the Ablation Frontiers Team

Keegan Harper (Founder) , Chief Executive Officer

Over the last decade Mr. Harper has founded 8 medical device companies. The companies have been focused in the areas of electrophysiology, cardiology, pulmonology, biologics, orthopedics and spine. Mr. Harper co-founded Ablation Frontiers in 2004 and has successfully built a quality management team, securing $40 million in equity financing to date. Mr. Harper is also the Chairman of three venture backed medical device start-ups which are Vertiflex, Inc., Pegasus Biologics, and ROX Medical. He has been a CEO in medical device start-ups for 14 years, structured three acquisitions, and has raised more than $250 million in venture capital.

Randy Werneth (Founder), Vice President of Research & Engineering

Mr. Werneth has over 18 years of experience in the development of successful medical devices with companies such as Davis+Geck, Medtronic, Micro Therapeutics, Innercool therapies and Edwards Lifesciences.  Mr. Werneth has co-founded CardioStream and Ablation Frontiers. He engineered and/or managed the design & development of numerous medical devices, technologies and clinical procedures ranging from coronary stents (coated and non-coated), neuro-embolic materials and hyperthermia technologies. In addition, he has held various senior level positions in operations, research & development and business development. Mr. Werneth holds over 25 issued US patents.

Martin Chambers, Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Mr. Chambers has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing since February 2006. He has over 26 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries – for the past 16 years in implantable cardiac devices and peripheral/cardiac vascular interventional devices. Mr. Chambers has significant experience in both Sales and Marketing, through numerous international management assignments in three different continents. Prior to joining Ablation Frontiers, Mr. Chambers held Vice President positions with EV3, (Peripheral Endovascular), and Guidant Corporation, (Cardiac Rhythm Management). Mr. Chambers received his degree in International Marketing from Southampton University, UK.   

Jerald Cox, Director of Clinical Affairs

Mr. Cox has served as the Director of Clinical Affairs since March, 2006 and is responsible for the design, development and execution of all international and US clinical trials. As a practicing Physician Assistant he has over twenty years of patient care experience in cardiology and surgery.  In 1998, he directed his career to clinical research and has held various field and management positions working on mapping and ablation strategies at Cardiac Pathways Corporation and CryoCor, Inc.  Mr. Cox received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at California Lutheran University and his Physician Assistant degree at the State University of New York, Stony Brook.

Maribel Gonzalez, Corporate Controller

Ms. Gonzalez has served as Corporate Controller since March, 2006 and has over 10 years of finance, accounting, and management experience.  Previously, she was at Isis Pharmaceuticals where she held the positions of Accounting Manager, Assistant Director of Accounting and Assistant Director of Finance.  Prior to Isis, Ms. Gonzalez worked at Deloitte and Touche, LLP.  Ms. Gonzalez holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of San Diego.
